Third ‘Kitab Jatra’ held in London

Kathmandu.  The third ‘Kitab Jatra’ was held in London in a grand manner. The third ‘Kitab Jatra’ was organized by the Kitab Yatra Foundation at the Embassy of Nepal in London.

Former British parliamentarians, diplomats, litterateurs, journalists and various personalities from the Nepali community were present on the occasion.

On the occasion, five persons were honoured for their outstanding contributions in different sectors. On the occasion, businessman and social worker Rabindra Jung Lamichhane was honoured with the ‘Kitab Jatra Diaspora Social Initiative Award’.

Likewise, former NRNA President Kul Acharya was honoured with the ‘Diaspora Entrepreneurship Award’, Lex Limbu was honoured with the ‘Youth Icon Award’. Diaspora Literary Award was presented to Sangita Shrestha Swechchha and ‘Diaspora Journalism Award’ was given to former journalist of BBC Nepali Service Bhagirath Yogi.

An interaction on ‘Diaspora Nepali Literature: Opportunities and Challenges’ was also held on the occasion. On the occasion, Sushil Prajapati, President of Pasha Pucha: Guthi UK, recited poems of Janakavi Durga Lal Shrestha and his own poems, while Nepalese Nursing Association UK President Rashmita Singh Darlami recited a poem titled ‘I am a Nurse’ and Festival Director Rishiram Adhikari recited a poem titled ‘Ba’.

On the occasion, various administrations related to Nepali literature, Nepali handicraft and cottage industries were exhibited.
