Flood expected to reach Devghat at 3:30 pm

Kathmandu. The water level at the Chitwan-Devghat Flood Measurement Station has been predicted to rise to around 8 meters.

According to the Nepal Flood Alert, the current water level in Devghat is 4.76 meters. The flood flow in the Bhotekoshi River is expected to reach the Devghat area at around 3:30 pm.

According to preliminary estimates, the water level in Devghat may rise by about 3 meters and reach about 8 meters after the floods. The flood is expected to be of 2-3 years of recurrence period.

According to the current assessment, there is little possibility of major inundation in Chitwan and Nawalparasi areas. However, until further notice, people living in the settlements and market areas near the river have been urged to remain vigilant and stay in safe high places.
