Vacant posts of 10 people’s representatives, including two vice-chairpersons who quit the party

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has said that the posts of 10 elected people’s representatives of the local level including two vice-chairpersons who left their old membership and joined other political parties have become vacant.

Issuing a notice today, the EC informed that the posts of the elected people’s representatives of the local levels have become vacant.

According to the EC, the posts of four people’s representatives of Madhes Province, three of Koshi Province, two of Bagmati Province and one of Sudurpaschim Province have been vacant. The posts of ward chairperson of Sahidnagar Municipality Ward No. 5 of Dhanusha, Ward Chairman Jayram Mandal of Videha Municipality Ward No. 6, Sheeba Pasman of Kamala Municipality Ward No. 5 and Ward Chairman of Mithila Municipality Ward No. 2 Bihari Mahato Koiri are vacant.

Similarly, the posts of Tularam Rai of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-3 in Khotang, Bhuwal Raj Rai of Barahapokhari Rural Municipality and Gayananda Sardar, Chairman of Dhanpalthan Rural Municipality-5 of Morang have been vacant.

Likewise, the posts of Marjit Bahadur Khadka, ward chair of Jiri municipality-6 and Khetraj Ghimire of ward-3, have also remained vacant.

The post of vice-chairperson of Bardagoriya Rural Municipality of Kailali of Sudurpaschim Province Ganesh Raj Giri has also been vacant due to his defection.

According to the EC, the details of the people’s representatives who were elected from the then CPN (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist) and later joined other political parties in the local level elections of 2079 BS were received at the EC with the decision of the central committee of the political parties concerned.

According to the EC, the posts of the local level concerned have remained vacant as per Clause 32 (1) of the Political Party Act-2073 BS and Rule 22 of the Political Party Regulations, 2074.

The EC has published the notice as per Rule 22 (2) of the Political Party Regulations, 2074 BS.
