Lawmaker Amresh Singh to undertake Mechi-Mahakali Yatra

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Amresh Singh is going to undertake a Mechi-Mahakali Padyatra. MP Singh has said that he will undertake a Mechi-Mahakali Padyatra from Janakpurdham on the next day of Chhath festival.

Talking to media persons in Janakpurdham on Sunday morning, he said that he would trek to understand Madhes further and connect it.

On the day of Chhath Parana in Janakpur, the birthplace of Sita, I will perform the Mechi-Mahakali Padyatra by offering Arghya at Gangasagar,” he said, “This is the theme of my padayatra. Society should be united. Politics is for uniting the society. It is for the prosperity of the country. There should be a path of unity now. ’

According to him, there have been changes in education, health, roads, irrigation, security and sanitation in Madhes.

He said he would listen to the people during the march.

“I go among the people and listen to the people. I speak less myself and listen to the people more,” he said, “I walk for five hours every day and listen to the people for 7 hours.” ’

He said that during the trek, he would start from Janakpurdham with soil and water in a pitcher and on the day of Maghe Sankranti, he would immerse barley and sesame seeds in the Mahakali river.

On the occasion, he said that the incumbent government formed with the huge support of Madhesi people has not given much priority to Madhes.

He said that he had announced self-immolation if the Balen government was not formed and now he was talking about the shortcomings being made to strengthen the government and tried to correct it.
