Kathmandu. The senate meeting of Tribhuvan University (TU) is scheduled for October 6. The meeting is being called to pass the university’s policies and programs and annual budget, according to TU spokesperson Nabindra Bhandari.

The Tribhuvan University (TU) meeting was supposed to be held by July 2083, but it has not been held yet. Deepak Raj Joshi, president of the Free Students Union (FSU) of Tribhuvan University Central Campus, said that the policy and program and annual budget to be passed by the assembly could not be moved forward due to the lack of meeting.

Chapter-17 of the Tribhuvan University Organization and Educational Administration Rules, 2050 provides that notices, agendas and proposals should be made available to the members at least 15 days before the date of the annual day meeting and general meeting of the assembly. However, Joshi claims that the members have not been formally informed about the proposed meeting of the assembly on October 8.TAG_OPEN_p_5

Joshi said that the university’s grace list is an important process related to the years of study, hard work and educational journey of thousands of students. He said that important issues like the process of formally accepting the degree earned by the students, the policies and programs and the annual budget should be carried out as per the regular process.TAG_OPEN_p_4

Joshi said that the academic dignity and institutional process of the university would be questioned if such important issues were pursued without following the regular process.
