Private sector should not be tagged as brokers: General Secretary Poudel

. Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Pradeep Poudel has said it was wrong to label the private sector as a broker. Addressing a programme entitled ‘Economic Agenda in the Political Party’s Manifesto’ organized by the Nepal Economic Journalists’ Association here today, he said it was inappropriate to call a profit-making entrepreneur within the ambit of law a broker.

General Secretary Poudel said that the state should support in capital formation as the private sector creates employment and pays huge tax to the state.TAG_OPEN_p_5 Admitting that the Lama manifesto in the previous elections was not implemented, he said this time the NC would bring a 10-point manifesto for implementation.

} He said that competition based on a concrete agenda is necessary for economic development, not abuse. Saying corruption control was possible only through digitalization of economy, he stressed on the need of digitalizing administrative mechanism and government functions.

Although the state needs to invest in education and health, the private sector has the main responsibility for production and employment generation, he said.TAG_OPEN_p_3 He also stressed the need to create conducive environment by reducing policy stringency to attract foreign investment.
