Govt revises visa-free ticket policy after a decade

Kathmandu. The government has started a review of the free visa, free ticket policy implemented for foreign employment in the Gulf countries after a decade of its implementation.

Officials at the Ministry of Labor said they had started studying the positive and negative aspects of the policy.TAG_OPEN_p_5 Foreign employment entrepreneurs have been demanding reforms for a long time, saying that it is difficult to meet the operating expenses of the office and it is necessary to ensure the safety of the workers.

Bhuwan Gurung, president of Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs, said, “The free visa-free ticket policy was implemented without study.TAG_OPEN_p_4 This has challenged both business and the state. An urgent review is needed. ”

The Ministry plans to implement necessary reforms in the policy based on the conclusions of the study.
