Directive to adjust price hike of daily essentials

. KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has directed producers, importers and distributors to adjust price hike of daily essentials so as not to put unnecessary burden on consumers.

According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the Department has urged major food and oil production companies, importers and distributors to provide goods without taking undue profit and adjust the price.TAG_OPEN_p_3 This step has been taken to provide relief to the consumers as there is a price hike and shortage of supply of essential goods including gas, cooking oil, rice, etc.

The Department has stated that it has been continuously monitoring to ensure quality goods and services as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 and Regulation, 2076.TAG_OPEN_p_2
