NEPSE index declines by Rs 8.69 billion

Kathmandu. The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted a slight fall on Thursday. The NEPSE index decreased by 0.04 points to close at 2662.09 points.

A total of 2,22,82,000 units of shares of 329 companies were traded today amounting to Rs TAG_OPEN_p_5 8.69 billion. Amid the volatility in the market, the share prices of 113 companies increased while 133 companies declined. The prices of 13 companies have remained stable.

The companies in the hydropower sector are the top earners. Reedy Power Company’s share price rose by 9.67 percent. Likewise, Singati Hydropower Company Ltd and Akhukhola Hydropower Company Ltd surged 8.68 percent and 7.21 percent respectively.

Reedy Power Company also topped the list in terms of transaction amount.TAG_OPEN_p_3 Shares worth Rs 65.47 crore were traded. It was followed by Ankhukhola Hydropower (Rs 621.3 million) and Singati Hydropower (Rs 58.76 crore).
