Kathmandu. The Mithila Madhyamiki Parikrama, popularly known as the cultural bridge between Nepal and India, has formally begun from today. The circumambulation with the palanquin of Lord Ram and Janaki has begun from Thera Kachuri of Mithila Bihari Municipality in Dhanusha district.
On the first day of the circumambulation, the Sadhus and devotees take a rest at Hanumannagar of Janakpurdham and then leave for Kalyaneshwor in Bihar State of India.
The participants of the circumambulation will go through Girijasthan of Phulhar, Matihani, Jaleshwor, Madai, Dhruvakunda, Kanchanban, Parbata, Dhanushadham, Aurahi, Bisaul of Mahottari and return to Kalyaneshwor and return to Janakpurdham on the full moon day.
The devotees trek a total of 133 kilometers in 15 days, including 105 from Nepal and 28 from India. Chief Minister of Madhes Province Krishna Prasad Yadav inaugurated the circumambulation with a palanquin. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Yadav said that the Madhes Province government would take special initiatives to forward the work of Ramayana Circuit in the coming days.
He said he would personally visit India and hold discussions with the stakeholders. The Chief Minister said that the state government has a plan to expand the Janakpurdham airport to connect Ayodhya directly to Janakpurdham.
