Kathmandu. The Aam Janata Party Nepal (AJP) has demanded the government to release Durga Prasain unconditionally. Prasai was arrested from his residence in Bhaktapur on Monday evening.

Issuing a press release today, the party’s Spokesperson Chandra Bhusan Sah said that the party’s serious attention has been drawn to the arrest made last night.

“The government’s game of repeatedly arresting and releasing children with the ill intention of discouraging and silencing its critics and dissenting voices is not only against the government’s dignity and maturity but also an attack on the rule of law and democracy,” the statement reads. ”

The party has also urged the government not to carry out any acts that would infringe on human rights, fundamental rights, freedom of expression and dissent.
