Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) candidate for Nuwakot-1 Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has intensified his door-to-door campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He is the candidate for the House of Representatives election from the Nepali Congress.
Speaking at the door-to-door programme, he said he was competing in the first-past-the-post election for the first time and shared his experience as the Energy Minister, Foreign Minister and Finance Minister before this. Mahat claimed that he has completed the remaining electricity access expansion works in Nuwakot.
“I am contesting the election for the first time. Even though I contested the direct election from here for the first time, I became the Energy Minister, the Foreign Minister and the Finance Minister. The rest of the electricity that had not reached Nuwakot was delivered by me. When I was the finance minister, the irrigation project was dilapidated in a big budget, for which I had brought the budget. To ensure production, to ensure irrigation, this problem was overcome. ’
Necessary budget was allocated for irrigation projects which remained dilapidated during his tenure as Finance Minister and these projects proved effective to ensure production and irrigation.
Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that other parties would only make commitments but their party would carry out its work. “Others only talk about it, they say we will do this and that, but NC works and it works,” he said, adding, “I believe in works.” If elected, I will work more responsibly towards the people and will not disappoint the people. ’
He has been presenting his election agenda to voters and collecting suggestions on local problems. As the election to the House of Representatives draws closer, the candidates have intensified their campaigning across the country.
