Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Ranbir Singh Chhetri, who had filed his candidacy for the post of Kathmandu constituency-9 from Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), has withdrawn his candidacy and supported Nepali Congress candidate Nanu Bastola.
He said he had withdrawn his candidature and supported Nanu. With Ranveer’s support, the Congress has become stronger in Kathmandu-9. Congress candidate Nanu Bastola felicitated Ranveer Singh with a scarf.
A total of 24 candidates from different political parties and independents are in the fray for the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives.
There are 34 polling stations and 90 polling centres in Kathmandu constituency-9. There are 24 candidates, including 18 from political parties and six independents. Of them, 20 are male and four are female.
Out of the total number of voters in the constituency of 78,495, male voters are 48.69 percent or 38,217 and female voters are 51.31 percent or 40,278.
