Gagan complains of spreading misinformation against him and Congress on social media even during silence period

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa has said the campaign to spread misleading information against him and his party in the social media has not stopped even during the silence period of the elections. In a Facebook post on Tuesday, he said that misinformation, false narratives and manipulated videos against him and Congress candidates were circulated on social media even during the silent period of the elections.

“This is not only a violation of the code of conduct, it is an attack on democratic culture. Your conscious participation against such false and misleading information is very important,” he wrote.

He urged people to report accounts that spread misinformation and asked them to pause for a moment before sharing any content only after checking the truth.
