Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — The Election Commission (EC) has prepared a special action plan for the transportation and collection of ballot boxes in remote and remote areas for the upcoming elections.

The Election Commission has planned to use helicopters to transport election materials and human resources to the geographically remote mountainous and hilly districts and to bring the ballot boxes safely to the counting centres after the voting.

According to EC secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut, ballot papers have been transported to 27 remote areas of Humla and Dolpa by helicopter with ballot papers, employees and security personnel. There are 23 voting centres in Dolpa and four in Humla.

Secretary Raut said that helicopters would be used to collect ballot boxes from 61 remote places of 15 districts of the country even after the completion of the election.

“We sent ballot papers and ballots along with staff and security personnel to 27 places in Humla and Dolpa districts, including 23 in Dolpa and four in Humla. The ballot boxes will be collected from 61 places in 15 more districts, but the ballot boxes will be collected by helicopter from 61 places from Taplejung to Darchula,” he said.

Ballot boxes will be collected by vehicles except in the 61 places from Taplejung to Darchula. In order to make the transportation of ballot boxes systematic and safe, the EC has already sent the necessary budget to all the 77 district administration offices of the country.

“The Election Commission has sent the transportation money to all the 77 District Administration Offices and they prepare a transportation action plan and the ballot boxes along with ballot boxes are brought to the counting centre by the concerned District Administration Office under the leadership of Chief District Officer in coordination with all the security agencies,” he said. 165 votes will be brought to the counting centres,” he said.
