RSP’s Sasmit Pokharel wins in Kathmandu-5

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Sasmit Pokharel has been elected to the House of Representatives from Kathmandu constituency-5. According to the final results of the election to the House of Representatives, he has been elected with 30,737 votes.

Newly-elected lawmaker Pokharel received 9,159 votes from Nepali Congress (NC). CPN-UML’s Ishwor Pokharel has secured 4,701 votes in the election, according to the Office of the Election Officer.

Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s Kamal Thapa got 1,729 votes, Ujjyalo Nepal Party’s Shree Ram Gurung got 1,100 votes and Labor Culture Party’s Amit Thapa got 711 votes. A total of 25 candidates including various political parties and independent candidates were in the fray in the constituency.
