Nepse shares traded by Rs 21.5 billion

Kathmandu. On Tuesday, the stock market was trading at its highest level in 7 and a half months. Transactions worth Rs 21.5 billion were recorded on the day.

Earlier, the transaction was worth Rs 26.57 billion on July 26. Today’s turnover is the highest since then. On the last day of August 2081, the market recorded a turnover of Rs 29.95 billion.

Trading was halted after three positive circuit breaks in the market the previous day. As a result, those who wanted to buy and sell were not able to do so. A total of Rs 55 crore was traded in the previous day.

The NEPSE index decreased by 32.08 points or 1.11 percent. With this decline, the NEPSE index reached at 2843 points. Trading was suspended by 6 percent the previous day.

The market witnessed sharp volatility today. After the start of trading, the NEPSE index fell by 2796 points at 12:35 pm. After that, it was held till the end.

While the price of 78 companies increased, 178 declined, while 5 remained unchanged. Non-life insurance increased by 0.47 per cent and life insurance by 0.51 per cent. Banking sector saw a decline of 1.27 per cent, development bank 1.16, finance 2.06, hotel and tourism 1.85 per cent, hydropower 1.45 per cent, investment 1.48 per cent, production and processing 1.82 per cent, microfinance 0.17 per cent and others 1.40 per cent.

The prices of the two companies rose by 10 percent. Reliance Spinning Mills and Salpa Development Bank are among the companies that have increased by 10 percent. The price of Three Star Hydropower Ltd increased by 9.08 per cent, Kalika Power by 8.87 per cent and Life Insurance Corporation by 5.42 per cent.

Himstar Energy was the biggest loser, falling 6.36 percent. Ngadi Group, Ankhukhola Hydropower, Api Power, Reedi Power and Shivam Cement are among the five companies that were traded today.
