Kathmandu. Locals of Bancharedanda have once again stopped the disposal of garbage in the Kathmandu Valley.

Locals have not allowed the garbage to be disposed of, saying the agreements reached with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Ministry of Urban Development in the past have not been implemented.

Niranjan Sanjel, a local, said that the vehicles carrying garbage from Kathmandu have been sent back with the insistence that they would not be allowed to dump the garbage until the past agreements were implemented.

He said, “We have been suffering from repeated loan agreements. The protest will continue until our demands are met. ’

Prior to this, the obstruction of waste disposal was removed after Minister for Urban Development Kul Man Ghising pledged to implement past agreements reached in the past.

Locals of Kakani Rural Municipality 1, 2 and 3 of Nuwakot and Dhunabesi Municipality 1, 3 and 4 of Dhading district have not allowed vehicles carrying garbage to go to their destinations.

Local people’s representatives and political leaders from Kakani, Belkotgadhi and Dhunibesi have also supported them.
