Kathmandu. The government has decided to accept the report of the commission of inquiry on the incident of September 7 and 24.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Sunday decided to accept the report submitted by the commission and receive it, according to government spokesperson and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal. Further details will be released on Monday, he said.
The Cabinet also decided to recommend Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal to the post of NA member to the President.
The meeting also decided to make necessary arrangements at the Nepali embassies in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Islamabad, Cairo and Tel Aviv and the Nepalese consulates in Jeddah and Dubai for immediate relief and rescue of Nepali citizens stranded in war-hit West Asian countries and stranded in transit.
The government has also decided to accept grant assistance worth USD 24.267 million from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) for the project “Conservation of Livelihoods and Asset Conservation through Reduction of Risks Caused by Glacial Lake Outburst Floods and Climate Change Induced Floods in Glacial Basin Basin Areas of Nepal”.
