Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Janamat Party, CK Raut, has announced his retirement from parliamentary politics. But he said that the “politics of struggle” will continue.

“Retire from parliamentary politics, continue the politics of struggle. I want to publicly clarify that I will stay away from parliamentary politics, but that does not mean that I have disappeared from politics. ’

“I will remain active in politics, continuously advancing my principles and agenda, continuously fighting for the people and remain in the service of the people,” he said. ’

CK Raut-led Janamat Party is a party that emerged after the election of the member of the House of Representatives and State Assemblies in 2079 BS.

At that time, the Janamat Party became a national party. Chairman Raut himself won the election. In the proportional representation category, the Janamat Party got five more seats, removing the threshold. However, the Janamat Party could not get a single seat in the 2082 Falgun 21 elections.

Raut, who was contesting from Saptari-2, lost to Ramji Yadav of Rastriya Samajwadi Party. Other candidates of the Janamat Party also did not win the election. The threshold was also not cut in the proportional category.

Chairman Raut said he would stay away from parliamentary politics but would work to prepare the party for the upcoming elections. “I am committed to prepare the Janamat Party for the upcoming local and provincial elections. ’

“I will always be among the people, stand on every front and struggle, and will always play a role in the fight for rights and identity,” he said.

He also said that he was compelled to become the chairman of the Janamat Party after others refused to accept it.

Stating that he had moved forward to open the party after the government did not allow him to do any work at all and completely banned him from going to the people, he wrote on Facebook, “I called Narendra Prasad Chaudhary and my friends to Janakpur and convinced them time and again to become the chairman of the party.” When they refused, I had to become the chairman of the Janamat Party. ’

He also claimed that he contested the parliamentary elections twice against his personal will. He won the 2079 election but lost this time.
