Kathmandu. On the second trading day of the week, the NEPSE index increased slightly. The market, which had been negative for most of the day, recovered 5.01 points to close at 2,936.56 points.
On the day, the Sensitive Float Index decreased by 0.27 points and the Sensitive Float Index increased by 0.03 points. The market saw an intra-day correction on Monday, after rising in the previous two days.
The transaction amount, however, has decreased. The turnover was Rs 23.59 billion on Sunday and it was limited to Rs 15.78 billion on Monday. A total of 3,80,000 units of shares were traded through more than 1,56,000 transactions of 342 stocks.
Shares of Salapa Development Bank, Reliance Spinning Mills, Solu Hydropower and Bhujung Hydropower reached the positive circuit level on the day. Manakamana Engineering Hydropower Ltd and Hotel Forest Inn surged 10 per cent while First Microfinance Ltd surged 9 per cent.
On the basis of turnover, Kumari Bank Ltd was on the top track while Shivam Cements and National Hydropower Company Ltd were among the top gainers.
Out of 13 sub-groups, 7 sub-groups have increased while six sub-groups have decreased. The production and processing sub-group witnessed a rise of 1.53 per cent while the hydropower and mutual fund sub-group witnessed a rise of nearly 1 per cent.
