Dol Prasad Aryal elected Speaker unopposed

Kathmandu. Dol Prasad Aryal (DP) of Rastriya Swatantra Party has been elected Speaker of the House of Representatives unopposed.

Senior-most member Arjun Narsingh KC, who is presiding over the meeting of the House of Representatives, announced Aryal as the speaker.

Rabi Lamichhane, a member of the House of Representatives, who is also the president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, had proposed Aryal for the post of Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam and Finance Minister Dr. Similarly, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Sunil Lamsal had seconded the proposal.

Aryal was directly elected from Kathmandu-9 as the founder of Rastriya Swatantra Party. He was the vice-president of the party.
