Kathmandu. All the technical work of the Nepali movie ‘Lalibazaar’ which is scheduled to be released on April 18 has been completed.
As soon as the film is ready, the production company Hexagon Arts has announced that it will sell its international distribution rights.
After the popularity of the song ‘Mayalai Ke Diu Ma Baina’, the foreign rights of the film have been offered, but the production team is going to sell the release rights of the film after being technically ready.
Various offers are coming for the purchase of ‘Lali Bazaar’ as the films produced by Hexagon Arts will make a profit without incurring losses to the Diaspora distributors. Hexagon Arts has been proven as a film production company that does good business in the Diaspora and wins the trust of the audience.
According to the production company, the film was ready for release three weeks ago. The distributors who buy the Diaspora rights will be able to sell the international release rights only after the film is fully ready as the technical work is in the final stage.
The producer of the film, Max Dipesh Khatri, has said that preparations are being made to move forward with the distribution agreement targeting the foreign release of the film. According to him, the proposal for the purchase of Diaspora rights will be sold after discussing with the production group.
“We made the film first because we are aware of the problems faced by the international distributors when the film is not ready. That’s why even though we got an offer, we said that we will first prepare the film and talk about it. Now we can give the film as soon as we have an agreement. We are preparing to sell all the release rights by the first week of April,” said producer Khatri.
He said that after the popularity of the song ‘Mayalai Ke Diu Ma Baina’ included in the film, the proposal for the purchase of foreign rights of the film is coming. The first song of the film, which was released on March 29, has been viewed more than 11.5 million times on YouTube and thousands of videos have been made on Tiktok.
The writer and director of the film, Yam Thapa, said that the story is not seen in Nepali films to the audience.
The release date of the movie ‘Lalibazaar’ has been fixed on Baisakh 1, 2083 BS. The movie features Swastima Khadka, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Samaira Thapa, Mukunda Kumar Shrestha, Abhay Baral, Prem Pandey, Asha Poudel, Govinda Sunar, Abha Aryal, Tara Sharma, Ramesh Badi, Saraswati Adhikari, Janaki Kathayat, Nischal Panthi and Birbal Chaudhary. The film also stars Bishal Devkota and Prasansha Subedi.
Vishal is an actor working as an actor and director in the theater, while Prashansha Jenji is famous as an actor. The screenplay and dialogues of the movie are jointly written by director Thapa and director Pradip Bhattarai.
The executive producer of the movie is Pradip Bhattarai, Max Dipesh Khatri and Rabindra Singh Baniya are the producers.
