New York police file complaint against actor ‘Bale’

Kathmandu. A Nepali student has filed a rape complaint against actor Sagar Lamsal at the New York Police Department.

A family member of the girl’s uncle told Onlinekhabar that the girl had lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday. The student lives in Queens, New York.

The girl had posted a status on Facebook alleging that Bale had raped her in her apartment. Following his status, police arrested Bale from Budhanilkantha in Kathmandu on Saturday.

He has been remanded in custody by the District Administration Office for 5 days. The CDO can be kept in custody for a maximum of 25 days in case of indecent behaviour.

According to the girl’s family members, she has lodged a complaint with the police. “After the complaint, the police are now keeping a special watch on the child. Government lawyers and doctors have also been given. Social work facilities are also provided. His health is being taken care of under the supervision of the police,” the member said.

“Since the incident site is in the US and the accused is in Nepal, we were delayed in consulting on how to proceed with the investigation process and where to file the complaint,” the member said, adding, “We are now waiting for the US Police to coordinate with the Nepal Police.” ’

He said, “In the beginning, there was talk of whether to do it here or there. The consultation was delayed. When the child decided to do that, we also agreed. ’

The victim’s family members said that it is not yet certain whether to file a complaint in Nepal or not.
