Kathmandu. The government has operated a dozer in the squatters’ settlement on the banks of Manoharakhola River in Bhaktapur.

The government on Sunday morning used dozers on unauthorized structures built on the banks of Manohara River in Bhaktapur. A team with a bulldozer from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started demolishing the houses.

The demolition was halted on Saturday evening due to obstruction by the locals. Today, the houses and tents are being demolished with additional security precautions.

The government on Saturday demolished structures constructed on the banks of the rivers at Thapathali, Gairigaun and Shantinagar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and on risky public and government land.
