Floods in Roshi River, BP Highway closed again

Kathmandu. The BP Highway has been obstructed again after a diversion was washed away by the flooded Roshi River following incessant rainfall in Kavrepalanchowk district.

According to the District Police Office, Kavre, the road which was partially opened on Monday evening has been closed again since Tuesday evening.

Earlier, the road section was obstructed since Saturday after the flooded Roshi River swept away the diversion.

Vehicular movement has been completely halted after the water level in the rivulet rose again on Tuesday evening, police said. Vehicular movement from Kathmandu to the east has been disrupted due to the road closure.

In a press statement issued by the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, the BP highway has been completely halted for the time being bearing in mind the possible risks in view of the possible risks taking place in several places of the district due to inclement weather.

According to the police, another notice will be issued to inform about the traffic of the road once the weather has improved and there is no obstruction on the road. The public has been urged to contact 100 and 103 for more information.
