Kathmandu. The hearing on the case related to Nepali film ‘Lali Bazaar’ has been postponed to Wednesday. A division bench of Justices Gita Prasad Timsina and Dipak Khanal issued the order to submit the censor copy through the censor board.
During the hearing on Tuesday, the court had ordered the original copy of the protest from the censor board and summoned it for discussion on Wednesday.
Director Yam Thapa’s film, which was scheduled to release on April 18, was stopped after a court order.
The film’s release will be decided on the basis of the censor copy to be presented in the hearing on Wednesday. Speaking at the press conference, the activists praised the film ‘Lali Bazaar’, which is based on the story of mother and daughter, saying that there are no dialogues and scenes aimed at any particular community hurting sentiments.
Producer Max Dipesh Khatri, actor Rabindra Singh Baniya and director Pradip Bhattarai among other Hexicon Arts have already produced successful films like ‘Jatra’, ‘Jatrai Jatra’, ‘Mahapurush’ and ‘Mahajatra’. However, director Pradip Bhattarai has given the responsibility of directing Yam Thapa in the upcoming film ‘Lali Bazaar’.
The film also stars Bishal Devkota and Prasansha Subedi. Vishal is an actor working as an actor and director in the theater, while Prashansha is famous as a Jenji actor. The screenplay and dialogues of the movie are jointly written by director Thapa and director Pradip Bhattarai.
The executive producer of the movie is Pradip Bhattarai, Max Dipesh Khatri and Rabindra Singh Baniya are the producers.
