Kathmandu. U.S. President Donald Trump has said he is suspending the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, saying there are no peace talks with Iran.
At the same time, the US blockade of the Hormuz region will remain in place. He made the announcement through the social media Truth Social. Iran has not commented on the matter. Earlier, Trump had said that US military and economic pressure forced Iran to come to the talks.
Meanwhile, the US military has claimed to have destroyed some Iranian boats, cruise missiles and drones. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) said its air defense system had neutralized another missile and drone attack from Iran.
Earlier, the UAE had claimed to have stopped Iranian missiles. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also released a new map extending the territory under Iranian control, warning it to follow the designated route or face a “decisive response”.
