Mobile phones and smartwatches used to cheat in SEE destroyed

Kathmandu. A total of 496 mobile phones and five smartwatches seized on the charge of cheating in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) have been destroyed in Siraha.

Police had confiscated seven iPhones, 489 Android mobiles of different companies and five smartwatches from various examination centres in the district. The equipment was destroyed yesterday for being used against the examination conduct guidelines.

The market value of the seized equipment is estimated to be over Rs 10 million. Some parents demanded that the mobile phone be returned once and for all. However, the concerned body has said that it has implemented the decision to destroy these equipment to maintain the examination dignity.

According to the District Police Office, this is the first such incident of such a large number of mobile phones being destroyed from students during the SEE examination in Madhesh Province.
