Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has expanded the scope of digital lending and allows micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to take loans up to Rs 10 lakh without collateral through mobile banking.
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has amended the Digital Lending Guidelines, 2078 BS to provide digital loan up to Rs 5 lakh for short-term working capital loan and Rs 1 million for long-term current capital loan.
As per the revised provision, the loan will be credited to the account within a few minutes after the appraisal is done through the automated system after the application is made through mobile banking. It does not require collateral, branch visits, or paperwork. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has stated that this provision will help expand financial access to small and micro enterprises carrying out digital transactions.
