Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Chief Whip Basna Thapa has lashed out at the incumbent government for lacking innovation in the implementation of budget and policies.
Talking to media persons after the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, she said that although the government got two-thirds majority mandate, it failed to show the expected reforms and innovation. According to him, it seems that the budget has only been slightly modified in the old structure.
Stating that the budget allocated to health, education and infrastructure was ‘urban-centric and ambitious’, Thapa said the lawmakers have been continuously raising questions on this issue.
“What we wanted was for the new government, which has almost two-thirds of the mandate, to do something new,” she said. But the budget has been made on the same thing or issue, it seems that the same budget has been slightly modified. The budget seems to be urban-centric and ambitious. ’
She also commented on the unease in the parliamentary committee over the absence of ministers.
According to him, the presence of the minister is necessary as per the practice as the discussion is not going ahead in the absence of the minister in the infrastructure committee but the decision is not effective. It was.
