Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Press Council Nepal has expressed serious concern to the media, journalists and social media users who are involved in activities and content against the journalists’ code of conduct.
Issuing a press release on Monday, the Council has urged all to disseminate the contents with a sense of responsibility within the perimeter of the code of conduct.
The Council has stated that activities against professional conduct and procorमय by some media, journalists and social network users have been increasing of late.
According to the Council, dissemination of baseless, controversial and abusive content focusing on views and monetization through YouTube channels, Facebook pages and reels without publishing news content without publishing news content has been on the rise.
According to the Council, the tendency of entering various offices, educational institutions or programmes without permission and journalist identity cards to publicise videos of indecent behaviour, misbehaviour and controversy and manhandling incidents on social media is on the rise.
“The irresponsible activities have had a negative impact on the credibility, dignity and established dignity of the entire journalism sector,” reads the statement.
