Govt should pay special attention to agriculture sector development and farmer-friendly policy: Prachanda

Kathmandu. Coordinator of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the government should pay special attention to agriculture development and farmer-friendly policy.

In a message of best wishes on the occasion of National Paddy Day, he said the hard work, sweat and dedication of working farmers has built a base for the nation’s food security and prosperity.

“Agriculture is the backbone of Nepal’s economy. It is possible to build the foundation of food security and prosperity of the nation only through the hard work, sweat and dedication of our working farmers,” he said. ’

He said that farmers have not been able to get adequate fertilizers, quality seeds, irrigation and other necessary agricultural inputs even during the peak period of planting. He also urged the government to effectively implement farmer-friendly policies and programmes.
