51 sick projects identified under Urban Development

Kathmandu. The government has identified 51 projects under the erstwhile Ministry of Urban Development as ‘sick projects’.

According to the details made public by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, a report with recommendations has been prepared to resolve the problems of sick projects, projects that have been contracted and non-profit investment. The report has been forwarded to the concerned departments and offices for implementation.

According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, the report on the projects identified as sick under the urban development has been sent to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Letters have been sent to the bodies concerned to provide updated work progress of all 51 sick projects so far.

According to the Ministry, the draft of the working procedure related to post-contract management has also been submitted to the Ministry.

A task force has been formed to recommend on the rationale and continuity of sick projects and unprofitable investments, according to the progress list.
