President Poudel extends best wishes on Bhanu Jayanti

Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel has extended best wishes to all Nepali language lovers at home and abroad on the occasion of the 213th birth anniversary of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya.

President Poudel has remembered the contribution of Bhanubhakta Acharya to the development of Nepali language, literature and culture. “Bhanubhakta’s contribution has played a significant role in establishing Nepali language as people’s language,” he said.

President Poudel remembered Bhanubhakta Acharya as the son of Dhananjaya Acharya and mother Dharmawati Devi on Asar 29, 1871 BS at Chundiramgha of Tanahun district.

According to him, Bhanubhakta had laid the foundation of Nepali literature by translating the Valmiki Ramayan in Nepali language in simple, elegant and interesting style. The Ramayana of Bhanubhaktiya has played an important role in maintaining emotional unity among the Nepalis residing in mountain, hill and Tarai as well as in raising public awareness, the President said in the message.

The contribution of Bhanubhakta Acharya to the promotion of Nepali language, literature and culture is incomparable, he said, adding that the contribution of Bhanubhakta Acharya to the promotion of Nepali language, literature and culture was incomparable.

President Poudel said that if the birthplace of Bhanubhakta could be developed as a literary, historical and cultural site, it would be true tribute to him.
