Industry Ministry urges people to lodge complaint at 9851116773 if there is artificial shortage of cooking gas and black marketing

Kathmandu. The government has stepped up its efforts to listen to complaints and monitor the market following the acute shortage of LP Gas (LPG) across the country in recent period.

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies has urged the general public to inform the public about black marketing and artificial shortage at a time when consumers are forced to stand in queues for hours due to lack of gas.

Issuing a notice, the secretariat of Industry Minister Gauri Kumari Yadav has appealed to the people to contact directly if they have difficulty in getting gas in the market.

Any consumer can inform about artificial shortage of gas in the market, black marketing or any problem in the supply by dialing mobile number 9851116773.

The Ministry has stated that the information and complaints received from the consumers will be taken seriously. It is stated that immediate initiatives would be taken to resolve the problem by coordinating with the bodies concerned on the basis of the information received.

The supply of cooking gas in the market has been disrupted for the past 20 days. There is a long queue at the gas depots but there is a compulsion to return with empty cylinders.

The Ministry has made arrangements to lodge complaints directly at the Secretariat after complaints were received that some entrepreneurs were creating artificial shortage and charging high price (black marketeering) by taking advantage of such difficult situation.
