Kathmandu. A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court demanding the release of journalist Kishor Shrestha from jail. Saraswati Shrestha, wife of Shrestha, filed a writ petition at the apex court demanding the immediate release of Shrestha.
KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has remanded Shrestha to judicial custody for three days for further investigation.
The Kathmandu District Court had issued an arrest warrant against Shrestha based on a complaint filed against him based on a complaint filed against him by Jana Aastha.com.
Police raided the offices of Jana Aastha Weekly and JanaAastha.com at Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, and seized computers and some documents. Journalists and media organisations have protested Shrestha’s arrest.
