Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Khagendra Sunar has claimed that certain middlemen have captured the police headquarters. Speaking at a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), he said that the questions raised against the IGP should be investigated.

He said, “We had asked for documents about the mischief committed in the purchase of police resources within 15 days. In the meantime, the police have called for tenders worth crores of rupees. Certain middlemen have taken over the police headquarters. I am firm on the question I have asked and I am strong. ’

He challenged him to go to court and file a case if he felt he was being defamed. He said that gambling cannot be done by coming to the sovereign committee and putting the cap on the ground.

He said, “If some friends feel that I have been defamed, there is a court here and there, go and file a case, I am ready to answer by standing in the dock.” But one cannot come to a sovereign committee and gamble with a cap on the ground, one cannot insult the government. ’

Likewise, Sunar accused the government of spreading social harmony, promoting ethnic conflict and communalism in the name of NGOs.

He said, “Social harmony is being disturbed in the name of NGOs. Ethnic conflict is being instigated. Communalism is being incitemented. The state cannot be said to disturb the country by approving it. Society cannot be disturbed in the name of caste and religion. Those who want to change their surnames will go, but the state cannot be destroyed by showing Dalits in front of them. You can’t bring money in English and sink it in Nepali. On the contrary, Nepal cannot be destroyed by presenting a document. ’

Lawmaker Sunar said that the budget meant in the name of Dalits and poor should not be frozen anywhere. Stressing that the budget provided by the state or through foreign aid should reach the targeted places, he claimed that a big manipulation was taking place in the name of Dalits and the poor.

“The budgets that were allocated in the name of Dalits and poor were not frozen anywhere. Whether it is the budget given by the state or by foreign aid, it has to reach the place. There is a lot of manipulation going on in the name of Dalits and the poor. ’

He also questioned the effectiveness of foreign assistance investment in physical infrastructure development. Giving the examples of Pokhara International Airport and Bhairahawa Airport, he said that the structures constructed with international assistance were not operating effectively.

“What is happening at Pokhara Airport when it comes to physical infrastructure? If the airport is being built with international assistance, the construction of Bhairahawa airport, the plane will not fly, the bus park will be built, if the bus does not run, then what is the use of it? We can’t afford to burden the state with debt,” he said.
