98 per cent paddy plantation completed across the country, 100 per cent paddy plantation in Sudurpaschim Province

Kathmandu. So far this year, the situation of paddy plantation across the country is very encouraging. According to the latest data provided by the Department of Agriculture, paddy plantation has been completed in 98 percent of the total arable land in the country.

The plantation rate has increased by almost 2 percent this year compared to the same period last year. Last year, only 96.08 per cent paddy plantation had been done. According to the department, paddy plantation has been completed in 13,41,764 hectares of land across the country so far.

Looking at the provincial data, the Sudurpaschim Province has the highest position in plantation. Paddy plantation has been completed in 154,950 hectares of land in the Far-West region and 100 percent paddy plantation has been completed.

Similarly, 98.50 per cent paddy plantation has been completed in Karnali Province, 98.10 per cent in Madhes Province and 97.87 per cent in Lumbini Province. Madhesh Province has seen significant improvement compared to last year; Last year, only 86.35 per cent paddy plantation was done in the district.

Bagmati Province has completed paddy plantation in 97.82 per cent, Koshi Province 97.00 per cent and Gandaki Province 96.68 per cent. Overall, due to the active monsoon on time and active agriculture spread, both area and percentage of paddy plantation have increased this year, the Department stated.
