Kathmandu. CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet has accused the external and imperialist forces of mobilizing resources in the agitation that took place on September 7.
Speaking at the protest program, Basnet said that they had no objection to the movement initially. But after the use of external forces in the movement, its form changed, he said.
“The movement that took place on September 7 had the support of all, we had no objection either,” Basnet said, adding, “But when the resources of the imperialist forces were mobilized in that movement, the state army, police and other bodies became the main spectators. ’
After that, the agitation was not limited to a simple protest but turned into a serious attack on the country, he said.
He accused the external forces of trying to trap Nepal in its clutches and said that the youth of the new generation were being used. According to him, a situation was created in the process of destroying the country’s wealth.
“No bombs had to be detonated, no missiles had to be detonated, no place was fixed for any attack. Our Nepali youths were used in that way,” he said.
Basnet said that along with the mobilization of financial resources, social media was also used extensively during the movement. He alleged that there was an attempt to portray those who speak in favor of the nation, country and institutional values by creating fake IDs and those who are in favor of development and nationalism.
