Rasuwa Customs Office collects Rs 1.16 billion in revenue

Kathmandu. Rasuwa Customs Office has collected Rs 1.16 billion in revenue in the first six months of the current fiscal year. The office is currently testing about two hundred cargo containers.

Chief Customs Officer Tulasi Prasad Bhattarai shared this information at a programme organized on the occasion of 74th Customs Day. On the occasion, two businessmen and four employees were also honoured for their outstanding performance. CG Motor Suppliers who paid Rs 3.21 billion in revenue by importing electric vehicles in the last fiscal year and Finzo Sonam Suppliers Kathmandu for exporting goods worth Rs 740 million.

On the occasion, Chief District Officer, local representatives, representatives of customs agents’ association and trade association stressed on the need of making all sides responsible to enhance the dignity of northern border point by operating the border point in accordance with the policy and regulations. He also stressed the need of cooperation of all to make the road improvement action plan a success.

Meanwhile, in the first phase, works are being carried out to smooth the difficult turning points with the support of China in improving the road at the Rasuwagadhi transit point and the Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Station has also made significant contribution in the operation of the road.
