Kathmandu. As the date for the general election is approaching, the election of Nawalparasi (Basup) constituency no. The Nepali Congress (NC) has intensified its election campaign in Province 1.

House of Representatives Constituency No. Speaking at a programme organized at the office of the Election Publicity Committee in Province 1 at Bardaghat, NC central member and candidate from the constituency Binod Chaudhary claimed that the NC would draw a clear blueprint for the country’s development under the leadership of Gagan Thapa.

The program was held with the slogan ‘We changed the Congress, we will change the country’. The speakers were of the view that the NC’s victory would be ensured if it moved ahead unitedly, pointing out the need of party unity in the present situation.

NC district secretary Kuldeep Acharya said that it would not be difficult to make Binod Chaudhary, a well-known personality known to the world, win in his own constituency. “If we all work unitedly, the result will be in our favour,” he said.

Chaudhary was elected in the 2079 BS from this constituency. Stating that the history of the NC has been witness of economic, social and political transformation through revolution and movement, he said now the time has come to translate that history into a roadmap of development.

“I’ve never had any prejudices in my mind. The Nepali Congress will draw the path of development, while the NC under the leadership of Gagan Thapa will draw the line of development of the country,” Chaudhary said. Claiming that the NC has understood the sentiments of the youth, especially the Genji generation and the spirit of the movement, he clarified that maintaining good governance and ending corruption were the main agenda of the party.

The leaders participating in the program were from Nawalparasi Constituency No. Giving a message that the NC is united in the election in Province 1, he pledged to ensure victory in the upcoming elections.
