Govt collects Rs 664 billion revenue in seven months, Rs 87.63 billion in January

Kathmandu. The government has collected a total revenue of Rs 664.02 billion in the first six months of the current fiscal year 2082/83. According to the details made public by the Ministry of Finance, the same amount of revenue was collected till February 12.

This is 3.3 compared to the same period last year. That’s 45 percent more. The government had collected Rs 642.45 billion revenue till mid-January of the last fiscal year.

According to the ministry, the government had set a target to collect revenue of Rs 813.63 billion by mid-February. By the end of the seven months, 81. Only 61 percent progress has been made. Although there has been some improvement in revenue mobilization, there is a huge gap between the target and the progress.

1. Customs Duty

3. Excise Duty

4. Decline in Income Tax and Non-Tax Revenue

Similarly, Rs 77.21 billion in non-tax revenue was collected in the last fiscal year compared to Rs 15.5 billion this year. The collection decreased by 81 percent to Rs 65.09 billion. The non-tax revenue target was Rs 87.10 billion.

5. Education Service Fee & Others

However, there has been an encouraging increase in education service charge and other small headings. Last year, Rs 2.14 billion was collected under this headline, while this year Rs 61.14 billion was collected. It increased by 7 percent to Rs 3.44 billion.

This is the state of departmental performance

Departmentally, the Department of Customs has collected Rs 278.42 billion in revenue till mid-February. That’s 8 percent compared to last year. 04 percent more. The customs office was set a target of collecting Rs 332.11 billion during the period. This collection is 83 of the target. 84 percent.
