The World Water Day is being observed across the country on Sunday to raise awareness on the use of water and its resources.

The day is being observed by the government bodies and various social organisations to create awareness among the general public about the importance of water, including the diseases that occur in human bodies for the lack of clean drinking water.

The United Nations Environment and Development General Assembly (UNEED) had proclaimed March 22, 1992, as World Water Day, urging all nations to take initiatives to conserve water resources around the world.
