Stock market falls 74 points

Kathmandu. On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index decreased by 74.73 points. With this decline, the NEPSE index closed at 2776 points. Since the market opened today, it has remained in the red throughout the day. Earlier, the market had lost 119 points in two days on Sunday and Monday, but only 19.7 points on Tuesday.

Despite the sharp decline in the market, the transaction amount has increased by about Rs 1 billion today. The transaction was worth Rs 11.11 billion in the previous day, which was Rs 12.10 billion today. The value of 13 companies increased and 255 decreased.

All the group-wise indices of the market have fallen. Other group indices fell the most by 5.26 percent. Overall, the price of Nepal Reinsurance Company fell the most by 9.84 percent.

Banking sector saw a share decline by 2.31 per cent, while development bank by 3.18 per cent, finance by 3.03 per cent, hotel and tourism by 2.12 per cent, hydropower by 2.81 per cent, investment by 2.67 per cent, life insurance by 2.02 per cent, production and processing by 0.39 per cent, microfinance by 1.99 per cent and non-life insurance by 2.22 per cent and trading group by 3.96 per cent.

The price of six companies increased by 10 percent. The prices of six companies listed in the market have increased by 10 percent. Reliance Spinning Mills, Superkhudi Hydropower, Ridgeline Energy, Suryakund Hydroelectric, Bhujung Hydropower and Hotel Forest Inn have surged 10 percent.

Nepal Reinsurance Company saw the highest fall of 9.84 percent. Similarly, Saptakoshi Bikas Bank Ltd (7.28), National Hydropower Ltd (7.17), Shivashree Hydropower Ltd (7.00) and Himal Dolakha Hydropower Ltd (6.00) respectively have also received Rs 6.00 crore. The price fell by 41 percent.

Himalayan Reinsurance, Api Power, Ngadi Group, Shivam Cement and Nepal Reinsurance Company were among the most traded companies today.
