Kathmandu. The last rites of 16-year-old Inisha BK of Surkhet will be performed today. The last rites of Inisha BK who was found dead in a community forest in Birendranagar on March 7 will be performed after 27 days.
The family had taken a stand that they would not accept Inasha’s body, saying that she was murdered after being gang-raped.
The family members will receive the body after the police arrested the culprits and remanded them in custody for further investigation. According to the family, Inisha will be cremated at Samjighat of Bheri River today.
After two weeks of investigation, the police submitted a report to the Government Attorney’s Office last week.
The Surkhet District Court on Sunday remanded the culprits involved in the case to judicial custody after arguments on Tuesday.
A single bench of Surkhet District Court’s Children’s Bench Deepak Dhakal issued the order to send all the four accused to judicial custody. According to the court’s order, they will be sent to a juvenile detention center.
According to the court’s information officer Ujjwal Rawal, the court has ordered to continue the case until the investigation is completed based on the seriousness of the incident and the preliminary evidence.
The court issued the order after hearing the case in a juvenile bench on Monday. Protests were held in Birendranagar after Inasha’s death.
