Kathmandu. The opposition parties have decided not to allow the House to function until Prime Minister Balendra Shah is present in the parliament.
On Monday, the opposition parties stood from their seats in protest before entering the agenda after the end of emergency, zero hour and special hour in the House of Representatives.
Then the Speaker gave time to speak. During the meeting, the lawmakers of the opposition parties said that the House will not be allowed to function until the Prime Minister is present.
Nepali Congress Chief Whip Basna Thapa said the Prime Minister should answer the questions of the citizens.
CPN-UML Chief Whip Ain Mahar said that the Prime Minister should be present in the parliament as per the constitutional provision and legal provisions.
Chief Whip of the Communist Party of Nepal, Yubaraj Dulal, urged all to move ahead abiding by the constitution and laws. He urged the Prime Minister to come to the parliament and speak on the rostrum even if he was dead for a while.
Aaron Rai of the Labour and Culture Party said that there is a matter of what precedent should be set in history. He urged everyone to pay attention to what message should be given to the next generation.
He urged people to keep in mind that if the number is arrogant, it will not be permanent. He said that after five years, there will be another equation after holding elections again.
“The day the Prime Minister is not ready to come to Parliament and answer the questions of the MPs, we will protest,” he said.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chief Whip Khusbu Oli urged the ruling party to take initiative for the presence of the Prime Minister. “Why don’t you want to hold dialogue with people’s representatives?” she asked.
