Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Chief Whip Niskkal Rai has demanded that Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) give an account of Nepal’s encroachment of Indian territory. Speaking on behalf of the opposition parties in the House of Representatives on Monday, Chief Whip Rai said this.
“I feel like I’m bowing my head today. Standing on the rostrum of the parliament, the Prime Minister spoke with a big chest that has not only bowed my head but the heads of nearly three crore Nepalis,” he said. This statement has been recorded in the parliament and has set a precedent. ’
He also said that the lawmakers of the ruling party applauded with pride. “My question to them is that you should have some self-remorse. Standing in the sovereign parliament, we have a note of dissent for his statement,” he said.
Rai demanded that the Prime Minister should answer this question by standing on the rostrum of the parliament. “We have a demand. Once again, he should stand on the rostrum of the sovereign parliament, give us an account of where Nepal has encroached on India’s land. We need an account, this is a matter of national pride and national security,” he said.
“If India says tomorrow that they want our land back, what land will we give them?” he asked.
“In defence of the Prime Minister’s remarks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the Prime Minister’s remarks are related to cross-border occupation. The foreign minister should have such general knowledge as to how the issue of land encroachment can be done cross-border occupation,” Rai said.
He said that the opposition has a clear understanding of this. “The Prime Minister’s statement on the rostrum is highly immature and against the national interest. It also weakens our claim with India. It is established that Nepal is also a border encroacher. ’
