‘Land Problem Resolution Committee’ to be formed in all districts

Kathmandu. The government has formed land problems resolution committees in all districts of the country. The Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration informed about the formation of the committees by issuing circulars in all 77 districts.

The district committee formed as per the ministerial decision will have 7 members. It will be headed by the Chief District Officer of the concerned district. The composition of the committee is as follows

1. Chairperson, Chief District Officer

2. Member: Chief Administrative Officer of the local level within the district designated by the Chief District Officer

3. Member: District Coordinating Officer

4. Member: Chief of the Land Administration Office at the District Headquarters

5. Member: Chief of the Division Forest Office in the District Headquarters

6. Member: Authorized Representative of District Administration Office

7. Member (Secretary: Chief of Survey Office at District Headquarters

As per the decision of the Council of Ministers on June 3, the central committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Balbhadra Bastola.

The newly appointed district committees have been directed to identify and resolve the land-related problems. Earlier, political appointments were made at the central and district level in the Land Problems Resolution Commission. The government has recently abolished the commission through an ordinance.
