Kathmandu. The Health Insurance Board (HIB) has started the process to pay an additional Rs 911.89 million to 202 various service provider hospitals under the health insurance claim payment.
According to the ministry, priority has been given to the payment of remaining liabilities under the health insurance and poor citizen drug treatment program after the new government was formed by Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta.
According to the ministry, on May 27, 2008, Rs 1.03 billion was paid for health insurance claims. Similarly, on June 4, Rs 321.3 million was released for medical treatment expenses of poor people and an additional Rs 273.77 million was paid on June 7.
The government has expedited the necessary resource management and payment process, while giving top priority to the health insurance claims and payment of medical treatment to the indigent citizens.
According to the Health Insurance Board, the goal is to increase people’s confidence in the health insurance program and make health service delivery more effective by giving continuity to the payment of arrears of service providing institutions.
